Curriculum for Early Childhood Music Classes Classes for ages 6 weeks- 4yrs that use music, movement and story time to develop areas of development in children such as: social, language, emotional, physical, and musical. Tapping rhythm sticks develops writing skills! Rocking and swinging w/ our grown-ups develop balance! Singing and musical story time help develop language skills. Starting and stopping helps develop self-control! 6 weeks - 18 months Exploration of musical instruments develops hand-eye coordination for lap babies through walkers. Rocking and swaying motions develop the vestibular system (balance) as well as emotional development with grown-ups. Labeling gross motor movements also help develop language communication. 19 months - 2 yrs. Sing along to favorite songs to develop language. Move to the music to develop gross motor movements such as jumping and swaying. Classes of 8-10 children develop social interaction. Grown-ups come to class to foster emotional security. Rhythmic instruments develop fine motor skills. 2 ˝ - 4 yrs. Hello and goodbye songs develop security through routine. Make believe helps with “fill in the blank” and math skills. Finger plays and rhythm sticks develop fine motor skills such as writing! All sessions will be taught by
